Membership

MEMBERSHIP RENEWAL – Annual dues are $65.00 for current members, if paid by March 15, 2012, which includes a $10.00 tax-deductible contribution to the RIWGA Scholarship Fund. Players must have a golf or social membership at a member club. Applications will not be accepted after the last GHIN update of the current season.

LAPSED MEMBERSHIP – If a current member requests membership after March 15, 2012, the member must have a handicap index of 29.0 or below to be reinstated.

NEW MEMBERSHIP – Applications for membership are open as of    . A player must be 18 years or older, with a USGA handicap index of 29.0 or less based on at least 20 scores and have a golf or social membership at a member club. Applications will not be accepted after the last GHIN update of the current season.

LEAVE OF ABSENCE – A leave of absence may be granted for one year with a written request letter sent to the RIWGA Membership Chairperson and must be approved each year. A letter requesting reinstatement must be sent to the Membership Chairperson before returning to full membership.

Handicaps
CLASS A – 0.00 – 21.0    CLASS B – 21.1 – 32.4

GHIN indexes as of November 15, 2011 will be used to determine a player’s class for the 2012 season. The Handicap Committee has discretion over all class changes. A player may petition the committee if her index warrants a change in class.
It is the responsibility of the player to use her current index for each tournament. The maximum index a player may use is the maximum number of her class (Class A – 21.0, Class B – 32.4). All scores (home and away), including those in multi-ball competitions shall be posted to GHIN system unless otherwise specified by the Tournament Committee.
Tournament scores (T scores) will be posted by the Tournament Committee.

MOST IMPROVED PLAYER – The most improved player (as determined by GHIN’s October 15, 2012 revision) will be awarded to the ONE most improved player for the season, regardless of class.
