Membership Information

INDIVIDUAL MEMBERSHIP: Annual dues are $60.00 for current members, if paid by March 1, 2008, which includes a tax-deductible contribution of $10.00 for the Junior Scholarship Fund. Membership will lapse if dues are not paid by this date.  Players requesting an additional book will be charged a $2.00 mailing fee.
LAPSED MEMBERSHIP:  A request for membership from a current member after March 1, 2008 will be considered a New Membership
NEW MEMBERSHIP: First year dues are $65.00.  To apply for membership to the RIGA, a player must be 18 years or older, with  a USGA Handicap Index of 29.0 or less, based on at least 20 scores and have a golf or social membership at a Member Club.  Application for new memberships will not be accepts after September 15, 2008.
ACTIVE MEMBERS:  Players must hold a golf or social membership in their respective clubs.
LEAVE OF ABSENCE:  A leave of absence may be granted for one year and must be requested by letter to the Membership Chairperson of RIWGA and approved each year.  A letter will be required for reinstatement.

 

 
Handicaps

Class A    0.0 - 21.0

Class B  21.1 - 32.4

    It is the responsibility of the player to use her current index for each tournament.  If a Class B player's index decrease two full points below 21.0 (the maximum allowable index in Class A) she must move to Class A within two weeks.  An A player will remain in Class A for the season and play to a maximum index of 21.0.  The maximum index allowed for Class B is 32.4.
   It is the player's responsibility to report any class changes to the Handicap Chairperson.
   ALL scores (home or away) shall be reported for handicap purposes, including those in multi-ball competitions
