RIWGA Tournament Information

The USGA rules will govern all play except when modified by Local Rules. Please report to the coordinator 15 minutes prior to your starting time. Events may not be postponed because of rain. Club superintendent makes the final decision. The Pro Shop or Coordinator must be notified of any cancellation. You may not fill in or substitute without consulting the coordinator. All complaints, disputes and/or interpretations of golf rules should be referred to a member of the RIWGA Rules Committee or Pro Shop. All suggestions and criticisms are appreciated, and must be presented in writing to the Tournament Committee.
Cell Phone and Measuring Devices Policies
Cell phones must be turned off while on the golf course
Electronic Measuring Devices will be allowed during RIWGA tournaments. Devices that measure wind speed or elevation are not permitted even if the function is shut off.
PRIZES
Weekly Tournaments
Chits/Gift Certificates shall be awarded at the conclusion of each tournament. When a player is eligible for two prizes – a gross and a net – she will receive the greater prize to which she is entitled – i.e. 1st net rather than 2nd gross.
12 Players will constitute a tournament. $3.00 of your entry fee will be given to service personnel and $5.00 will be used for administrative fees, and the balance will cover coordinator expense, cart fees, lunch and prizes. Gross and Net Prizes will be awarded according to individual tournament participation.
All Chits must be signed by the winners, and they will become null and void if not redeemed by October 31, 2012. Lost certificates will not be reissued.
Round Robin Trophies
GLENNA COLLETT VARE TROPHY – Awarded to the player having the lowest total gross score for the three Round Robin tournaments
DEBORAH SUTTON THORNLEY TROPHY – Awarded to the player having the lowest total net score for the three Round Robin Tournaments
HIGGINS PUTTING TROPHY – Awarded to the player with the three best putting scores have the lowest total in the three Round Robin Tournaments
Additional prizes will be awarded at the Annual Meeting at the discretion of the Tournament Committee
Kay Jackson Player of the Year Award
There are two “Player of the Year” awards. A Gross Player and a Net Player In determining the Players of the Year, a point system has been set-up and points are awarded to the players according to their finishing positions in designated tournaments.

Courtesy Reminders
When using locker room facilities remember to tip the attendant on duty accordingly When ever possible please plan to eat lunch at the host club. Anticipating our needs, food is prepared and staff scheduled for our pleasure and convenience. Support the Pro Shop Be gracious and express your appreciation to all staff members. If you have complaints don’t direct them at the staff, rather, alert your Tournament Chair to the situation.
